I have done om namo shivaya mantra in a dream for good effect. It made my knuckles glow green and blue.
About a week after in another lucid dream I became fully lucid and was able to step free from the boundaries in that dream. Then I heard a voice that sounded like kundalini saying shiva shiva shiva shiva over and over again while I was making the om sound.
I have done om namo shivaya to try and cut myself free from karmic entanglements. Once it made me feel like I was some kind of whale like creature in the ocean. Its a powerful mantra. I haven't done it too much while awake, I prefer dreaming.
